About Us

We’re always ready for a good story.

This is ours.

Once upon a time (like all good stories start), a group of people found each other. Professionals and hobbyists alike, they found each other through the local theater scene, and soon realized that they had more in common than the theater - they all loved Dungeons & Dragons. What better outlet for creative energy than collaborative storytelling? One of the thespians had been working on a homebrew campaign for quite some time, and the others leaped at the chance to help tell its story. D&D brought them so much joy; what if they could keep a record of that experience, and relive this story for the rest of their lives? What if they could share that joy, that story, with other people?

And so, Gunslinger’s Gateway was born.

There are a couple reasons we chose to call this Ghost Light Dice. The first and most obvious is that theater is what brought us together, and will always hold a special place in our hearts. Another reason has to do with the ghost light itself. Competing superstitions say that in an empty theater, a ghost light is put out either to keep the ghosts away, or to keep them company. Like a ghost light, D&D is what we have even when the shows close and the theater is empty.

While times may get dark, our light is always on.

The essence of a role-playing game is that it is a group, cooperative experience. There is no winning or losing, but rather the value is in the experience of imagining yourself as a character in whatever genre you’re involved in, whether it’s a fantasy game, the Wild West, secret agents or whatever else. You get to sort of vicariously experience those things.
